To raise awareness of the rare syndrome F.I.R.E.S. and document David’s progress, a video blog will supplement the existing written blog occasionally. This aims to showcase changes for medical professionals and family, while recording medication effects. Despite ongoing challenges, doctors find David’s progress remarkable with no signs of brain damage.

The family recently returned from a relaxing road trip to Texas, Louisiana, and Siesta Key, Florida, which helped them temporarily escape challenges with David’s F.I.R.E.S. condition. After vacation, they plan to continue adjusting David’s medication and focus on improving his reading and writing skills, hoping he feels ready for second grade by summer’s end.
