Welcome, all! I’m Desirae. I’m a military wife, special-needs mom, homeschool mom, and worship pastor. This site follows my son David’s journey with a rare epileptic syndrome called F.I.R.E.S. (Febrile Infection Related Epilepsy Syndrome). I also use this page to advocate for children like mine, as the healthcare system and society fall woefully short of what they deserve. If you make your way through the site, you will see Desirae’s Devotions- my faith is important to me, and sometimes I write about things I’ve learned along the way that are more relevant to faith than to F.I.R.E.S. If that isn’t relevant to you, you’re welcome to skip over it. If it is, then welcome to the place where my heart, mind, and spirit sometimes meet.
During my downtime, I enjoy reading (give me a 500+ page book and I’m a happy camper), writing, and game nights with my family and friends. I also am the queen of Minecrafting with my 12-year-old son Gabe.
